so looking through the internet and it dawned on me. instead of drilling holes in the wsm body for the et732 probe wires, why not make 2 small holes in the access door?

has anybody done this? and if so what extra material did you use to make the hole a little more airtight?

I would get the grommets from the bbq guru site but the et732 wires don't work with them.

I bought some grommets for my WSM but I thought they were specially designed to use existing bolt holes. I'll try to find them to verify.

screaming- i am assuming you are talking about these - http://74.208.166.166/products/Eyelet-Assembly-for-WSM-%282-per-pack%29.html

the problem is that according to that site, they dont work with the et732 probes because they are bigger.

People have had success using a spacer rods with nuts securing them on each side. Also threaded rods from lamps with nuts.

You'll have to drill the WSM (though you could probably drill the door) for either option.

Yep, I think those are the ones. What's the diameter of an ET732 probe? If you have a drill press or just a good eye and steady hand I wonder if it'd be possible to drill them out.

I used these on my 18 1/2 WSM. Used regular 3/8" brass grommets on my 22 1/2 WSM. Don't have an ET732 yet but I'll be getting one soon.
