I did 2 test runs during the week like I normally set my chargriller up for a smoke, but only enough fuel for about 5 hours. Both times it worked great. Had it set at 225 and it had a high of 235 (need to make chargriller a little more air tight) low of 220. Yesterday I smoked 2 racks of ribs and the temps were the same 220 to 235, seems the higher was after a larger portion of the coals were lit. But for most of the time it was under 230.

I know that having this for a chargriller may be silly, but I like gagets. But if I up grade on the smoker it will still work. I'm doing 4 butts today (ready to go on now) . I always have a problem when I refuel of the temp going down and taking a while to get back up. I think this will help that.
Thanks for reading... will report back after doing the butts.
