Hi, from Houston

Hi, nice to meet yall. I am from Houston. I just ran across this forum. I belong to other BBQ forums as well. I started doing the BBQ competition thing in June of this year. I do two a month (IBCA & TGCBCA sanctioned). So far I have taken a 2nd and a 3rd in brisket, a 6th in chicken, and last weekend I took a 1st place (and a little cash) trophy home for spare ribs. I cook on a Pitts & Spitts offset trailer. My wife and I love these competitions and we love meeting the other competitors. I have learned alot from other forums and I hope to do the same here.

I know that there is a great cookoff coming up in your area Oct 13th and 14th. Its at the traders village somewhere around the Dallas area. Going to be lots of cookers. As far as advise, I am still a rookie myself, I come here to get advise myself, however, I will share what I have learned so far.
