Regulator Knob Failure

Anyone else have the black knob on one of the new style regulators break in two?

The GOSM knob split in 1/2 leaving a piece like a do-nut attached to the tank.

Did I have it too tight.
Did the heat have anything to do with it?
Did it just have an internal flaw?

I noticed it seemed to be of a lighter gauge plastic than the knobs on the other gear.

They look and feel like bake-a-lite.

I also found out you can't buy just the knob!

Never had a problem with the knob.

I had one do the same thing YB. But it didn't leak so I kept using it.

This broke leaving no threads on the brass side.

Yeah, you might have to replace that one. Mine didn't leak on my tank, but if I hooked up my neighbors to it, it leaked at the cyclic rate.
