One quick, polite request.

Please, when you register or go back to modify your personal info either list your location, (it doesn't have to be specific) or at least the general part of the country where you live.

BBQ has many regional and philosophical variations and I for one find it interesting to know
where you are coming from (literally)

Nobody spams you based on region or any other info provided.

It just makes it a little more interesting.

I second that YB. It would be nice if people would atleast put the state. I know this might sound picky, but I would like to see state first then the city. It makes it easier to find people from certain states. Just a request.

jm42fan your request is not really all that picky. When doing a sort by location in the member list, the sort would group everyone regionally by state if it were typed in first, before the city. For the database to sort right, "State first" would be the "correct" entry format.

Just thought I'd bring this back up to the top as a reminder to all.

8) OK folks I'm just bringing it up to the top again.
When you register at least tell everyone what part of the World you're in.
Even better would be to list the state and then the city or part (i.e. East, West. central) of the state you reside. It's really interesting to note the attitudes and techniques of each region.

Duly noted YardBurner, changed mine to include the city of residence. Remember, however, that even though I live on the east coast, it is not the major influence on my tastes in Que. I grew up and spent 48 years in Texas and the world of BarBQ is centered there for me. My opinions of the stuff that mascarades as BarBQue in this part of the world makes me want to get back to Texas, yesterday!!!!

Okay, guys, city and state duly noted, though Centreville is not noted for BBQ, in fact, not too many non corporate eats here (with a few notable exceptions, like Ciros and Milanos)

Welcome to the board 502mids! Hang around here long enough and maybe you can put Centreville on the "BBQ" map.
