Saw this advertised on Craigslist; Baltimore Md.area.

http://baltimore.craigslist.org/grd/4074248079.html

Big Green Egg grill/smoker - $200 (Crofton)
Large Big Green Egg with stand one year old paid $1,000 for it.

It was posted Sept 19, so may be gone, just saw it and have not checked. :bbq:

That appears to be quite a deal as long as it's in good shape! I know Yardburner lives out that way so maybe he'll check into it.

Of course, being CL it could also be a setup for a $200 robbery...

Baltimore can be a rough town... but I don't know how many scumbags would use a Ceramic cooker for bait .... THAT would take a pretty creative mind.

Actually Crofton is a sleepy suburb of Balmer.

May have to look into that one, but I'd better be quick!

I would jump on it for $200. You wouldn't get the warranty, but I think its worth it.

I just sent a message to the person listed. Checking to see if it is remotely still available, what condition it is in, and the reason they are selling it. Hope it isn't hot- the wrong way!!

I think a BGE would be a pretty tough item to boost. They're quite heavy so it would be like stealing someone's lawn tractor. :D
Unlike propane, you'll never wake up scorched and naked in another county because you mishandled a bag of briquettes.

The tractor thing actually happened to my Dad.
They pushed it from the backyard to the main road out front.

According to my new small engine mechanic, it's even easier than that. A lot of lawn tractors use a universal key, so if it isn't secured in any way all a thief needs to do is start it up and drive it away.

I have a solution to that, though - buy reconditioned equipment from you small engine mechanic at a fraction of the cost of a new machine, and make sure it's ugly enough that no thief in their right mind would steal it.

I'm taking for granted that is is no longer available. No response from person who listed it. I'll wait a bit though before giving up.

As of November 1 I am taking for granted that the BGE was sold or that the lister has no interest in selling it. Has not responded to emails and it is still listed on Craigslist.
