Had some people over on Saturday, so I smoked up some pork butts over cherry/pecan. Went about 14 hours total at 225:

TBK,

Really nice looking pork you got there. great color on the bark and the second picture on the bottom right you can see a nice smoke ring.

Let me ask do you really like those claws for pulling the meat? I have been debating to buy a set or not.

The second photo shows everything you need to know about great pulled pork: the crusty bark, the handsome smoke ring (and accompanying smoke flavor), the succulent meat. Nice work!

Thank you Steven and sroach - my guests ate it all up, so no leftovers!

Sroach - I like the bear claws - they allow me to avoid the burnt finger tips I used to get when pulling. Worth the purchase, imo.

Nice job, T! The only bad thing is that you didn't get any leftovers!

Excellent pics, tbk420!

I just managed to pick up a set of bear claws (Man Claws, they were called) at Lowe's for $10. This is after a couple years of looking for them online and getting steamed at the high shipping prices. $10 was a real bargain when you consider that was less than just the cost of shipping if I'd bought them online. I'm looking forward to trying them out the next time I cook a butt. :D
Unlike propane, you'll never wake up scorched and naked in another county because you mishandled a bag of briquettes.

Looks wonderful... I have felt that way about the man claws too.
