Three things you may not know about Memorial Day.

--It originated after the Civil War as Decoration Day (decorating the tombs of fallen soldiers).
--It became an official Federal holiday only in 1971. (I would have thought much earlier)
--54% of Americans fire up their grills on Memorial Day. (I'd like to know what the other 46% are doing.)

For some of that 46%, eating somebody else's grilling instead of making their own might be a good thing. :wink:

And probably a very high percentage of United States citizens are more interested in pleasing themselves than honoring those who died allowing the freedoms the enjoy to be so prevelant.

Sad but true to many people believe Memorial day means the beginning of summer and the beaches are open. :(
