Well I finally got around to pulling the trigger on the BGE.

Picked up the XL BGE yesterday, even skipped dinner to put it together. I bought the XL, Nest, Place Setter, Clean out Tool, Cast Iron Cooking Grate, Electric Starter. Got an amazing price on the egg and stand.

Also this guy has an awesome selection of Dizzy Pig, so 4 bottles of that later and I am all set.

First pic was last night when I was done, last two were from this morning. I had to go take another look at it:

Just got to decide today, what I am cooking on it tonight.

Looking forward to seeing what it cooks!

How long did the assembly take?

Shorter then I thought. The Nest looked like a lot of parts when I opened the box, but had it together in 15 Minutes.

The egg about 1.5 hours, I was taking my time and making sure I tripple checked everything. :D

So does the loading dock for outgoing shipments at the BGE factory look like the backside of a giant hen?

Congrats on the XL egg 8)

I recently picked up the XL to go along with the large egg.

A definite size upgrade!

Good luck :!:

Did three racks of ribs today, could probably fit two more with no problem. thats' without a rack.

Still learning temp control, it seemed to jump around a bunch, guess I am going to have to keep cooking to get used it it.. DARN...
