What ya cooking?


I am keeping it traditional with Corned Beef done boil in GF beer, did a smoke in the past but more Pastrami taste then.

I made a Chocolate Raspberry Stout for the day

Who is grilling/smoking?

I'm not sure yet. I have both a flat and a point and the flat's likely to go into the crockpot, but grilling the point and then slicing it thin for sandwiches has a lot of appeal, too. Then again, I can do that some other time.

Around here points seem to be $1.99/lb with flats and rounds going for $1+ more. I should pick up a couple and throw them in the freezer for future use.

UPDATE: I've been informed that my older daughter and her boyfriend/fiance will be joining us so I'm now planning on grilling the point to go with the slow-cooked flat. I'd better stock up on rye bread and Swiss cheese for sandwiches!!

Top o' the marnin' to ye!

The point has been seasoned with fresh pepper and garlic powder and the flat is in the crockpot, so now it's time for me to go celebrate that grand Irish tradition known as "changing the oil in the wife's car". :wink:
