Why is it that recipes usually call for garlic in terms of cloves when everything else is measured in ounces, tablespoons, etc.? I can't think of a less accurate way to measure! Then again, I almost always add more than what's called for so I probably get at least the amount called for...

Seriously, if a recipe uses 4 peeled cloves how tough would it've been to weigh them? :wink:

With garlic I always use it so much I know what "average" to me is. If they are exceptionally huge, I cut back, if small I add one or two. But look at the Jalapeno - A recipe might call for 1 or 2. Have you seen how huge they are getting now?

Good point. Garlic (and jalapenos) can have quite a difference in size. I always end up upping the garlic anyway. I just use it as a guide.
