Anybody planning on doing any significant cooking this weekend? Or is everybody still recovering from the long Labor Day weekend? I don't see anything much more complicated than some burgers and maybe a steak on my horizon...

MIL is coming to town today. Taking us out to dinner tonight, then we're making pizzas Saturday. No plans for Sunday yet.

Well, I opened my fridge, and my butt roast farted at me, so I guess I'll tan his hide. I also got a try tip and some wild caught Alaska Cod. I'll see how far I get, if I get enough steam up and going. :D
Got beer???

Well, nothing farted at me when I opened the fridge......so I guess not! Seriously, I'm planning on taking it easy this weekend. I'll probably fix some blackened salmon (indoors) and I'm not sure what I'll do for Sunday, yet.

Funny you should ask. :D I ended up not being able to cook anything (grill/smoke wise) Labor Day weekend, so I'm going to smoke some ribs on Sunday. My plan is two 'standard racks' (rub and barbecue sauce) and one of the Jerked Jalapeno ribs from The Barbecue Bible (IIRC).

Take care,

Derek

It was Fried Pork Chops and Mac n Cheese inside tonight. Gonna go hunting tomorrow morning and then throw some Turkey Burgers on the BGE for the game....probably some cold oil fries for the side. Then gonna travel to my parent's house for my father's 63rd birthday on Sunday, so tomorrow's turkey burgers will be the extent of my grilling this weekend. I guess I'll try and soup'em up somehow.

This will mark only the second time I haven't used my Egg in the 5 weeks I've had it. Going up to a wedding in a lighthouse up near Bar Harbor Maine.

   Jimmy, you're lucky! Pork butt farts are awful, I'm telling ya. Anyways, I still like your plans for blackened salmon. Looks like I've got the green light on my plans. :D
