Looking for design info for a masonry Fireplace/Grill/Smoker

I'm planning to build a fireplace in one corner of our patio this summer and am thinking about incorporating a grill and smoker with it. Something along the lines of a Texas smoker.

Finding design guidelines/recommendations is proving nearly impossible. Has anyone run across anything or have any experience with something like this?
