I think that when they first same out, Char-griller did not offer an accessory like the Egg has for indirect cook, but it seems like they now have one available for their kamado cooker. If it works like the place setter (and it looks the same to me), then you should get this so you can open up the world of indirect cooking/ smoking. I use mine all the time for ribs, brisket, butts and all the desserts I've been doing lately.
