"Regular" barbecue in Hawaii

Anyone know of a decent place on ANY of the islands to get "regular" barbecue? (i.e., pulled pork or brisket with a regular sauce (not the pineapple sauce stuff))
I'll be visiting each island so I'm interested in anywhere there!

Dude, if I was headed to the islands, I'd be looking for a Luau (native BBQ) event with a whole pig and plenty of island fruits.

Sorry, never been there so I can't help ya.

When we were there in 2004 we went to Smith's for a luau and the pork was outstanding. I know that's a dated recommendation but I can't imagine it's changed since then.

As it happened, my breakfast on the first day in Honolulu consisted of a pulled pork sandwich with thick red sauce (KC style) on top! Couldn't believe I could get this for breakfast, but that was their "special" of the day (for breakfast). Not bad actually - I've had a LOT worse!!!

I did get to experience a luau and it was WONDERFUL! At least the pig was! I captured the process of the buried pig on video for posterity!
