Okay, NOW I have the parts and have the warming rack installed. (Thanks CG -- they sent me the replacement parts with lightening speed!).
To summarize, the long screws go in the lid, nut on the inside, and the short screws go in the grill base, nuts on the inside. AFTER the screws and nuts are in place, the part of the rack with the upward bend just sits on the long screws on the hood, and the legs go on the short screws. They are NOT bolted in place, they just sit on the screws. That way the whole unit lifts in or out in a split second.
This seems obvious now, but if you read all the board notes about the rack, apparently it is not, because it is not intuitive.
