You may find something in the fall when the big box stores are clearing-out inventory. Other than that, check craigslist for a used one. They'll last you 5-10 years easy...
The EP series is not available from the big box stores. The E for enamel and P for premium. The EP gets you SS grates and flavorizor bars instead of the PC stuff on the E. Seems like there was another small difference I'm forgetting. Ace doesn't have sales on Webers in my area, but if you get/use an Ace rewards card, it's a little incentive. Happy hunting!
thanks for the tips. i've been checking craigslist, but the pickens are slim.
the E-310 ($650) has PCI grates, the EP-310 ($699) is SS. Ace is the only place I can find that carrys or will order the EP-310. I didn't realize Sears carried Webers, I'll keep an eye on them also. thanks
Keep an eye on Amazon, they not only offer a large selection the prices are good and occasionally you'll get free shipping and if you sign up for their credit card then you can save more....
If you can get a great deal online w/free shipping, you could go with the E310 and change grates and bars when they wear out. You'll also be doing assembly yourself, something my Ace does no charge (same guy does them, knows proper gas line routing / assembly / testing). My decision was to buy locally, support my local dealer, keep my money in my community, and although I paid a bit more than I could have, I got more (in services and features) as well. This is, of course, just my $.02 and YMMV. Just some more things to consider. Enjoy whichever / wherever you choose!
I don't know about them going on sale, but I saved about 10% by shopping around. I ordered my Weber Performer from Wal-Mart online and they were 10% cheaper than Lowes and Home Depot (which never had them in stock and kept pushing back the "in store" date.)
