food network has been runnings shows all week about doing birds , both A.B. and Emeril run at a high temp to start then back it down , just their website i am sure the recipes and techniques are there

complete with possum on the half shell

The Barefoot Contessa showed one this past week as well.
Though not cooked at the higher temps.
She roasted a 12#er in 2.5 hours.

Only high-heat cooking I've done with turkey involves a bath in hot oil. :D

Beyond that, the last experiment with high heat I did involved a brisket and chuck roast at 325* or so. The results were not pretty. :(

That is really great that they are developing new ways for us to spend less time cooking for the great T-day feast. There are a lot of options available too!
