i disagree.....lugers and paces are pretty much on even keel in my mind....

Old Hickory steakhouse inside opryland...

its a decent steak but its 5-10 bucks more expensive than places where i've had much better steaks....

Jamils in Tulsa, OK. My favorite hands down. It's located just off I-44 and about a half a mile west of the Harvard exit on 51st street.

It's realtively cheap, and the Elias family has been here since the area was considered 'out in the country'.

Any of their meat offerings are top shelf but what comes with them is just as tasty. A cabbage roll, pita bread with veggies and bean dip. BBQ ribs. salad. it's an experience, not a meal.

Give it a shot if you are ever in Tulsa!

Phil's Tara Hideaway in Stillwater, MN has a great steak. He uses greek seasonings, I think.

If any one is ever in the Greenville area of SC, I HIGHLY recommend The Peddler. It is by far the best place for a steak. They will bring out any cut of meat you like and cut it as big as you want.
Once I went their with a boss of mine and he can put some steak away, he had a 50 OZ ribeye. The owner said the next biggest he ever sold was to some guy who plays for the Falcons and that was a 55oz ribeye.

Charleys Steak House in Orlando FL,( all locations). AMAZING taste and flavor. One of the worst to me is Ruth's Chris. me and my wife went there for our 2nd Anniversary and paid wayy too much for steaks that were cooked with butter & had absululetly no flavor. when i first began cooking steaks i used butter.

There used to be a steakhouse just south of Canton, OH called Bear Creek that had a 6 lb. steak challenge. If you ate the whole thing it was free or something like that.

Anyhow, rumor had it that John Wayne would eat there whenever he was in town, and they had a kind of reverse dress code, that if you wore a tie the waitress would come around and snip it off with scissors, then staple it to the ceiling. I remember thousands of ties were dangling from the ceiling.

It had an old hunting lodge feel with wooden plank floors, walls and and ceiling. It also had this huge stuffed black bear in the waiting area.

I think it burned down 15-20 years ago and they never rebuilt.

Anyone from NE Ohio remember that place?

I had a very good cut of prime rib at George's Chop House in Madison, Wisconsin. On Friday and Saturday nights it's sold by the ounce.

Angelo's in Myrtle Beach. It's an Italian place but steaks are the specialty. Had one of the best strips ever Saturday night. I like Ruth's Chris too but the Owner of Angelos's made the comment: "My steaks are what Ruth's Chris' wish they could be." I loved the bravado and he backed it up .

they cook all their food over oak and citrus woods...its phenominal...their heart of the filet (22oz filet) is out of this world...

I went to Ruth's Chris this weekend. The chop salad was excellent. The carrot cake was excellent but my fries were overcooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside and the strip I had just wasn't that great. Their was very little carmelization on the outside and the overall flavor just wasn't great. I partially blame myself. I usually get the bone-in ribeye and it's never disappointed. For the amount of money I was spending, I should have just stuck with what I know.

I'll admit that I didn't read all nine pages but has anybody mentioned Bern's Steakhouse in Tampa?

I've eaten some of the best offerings from many different locations but Bern's still ranks the best for me.
