Vegetable Basket

I have one and I use it all the time. It works very well.

I also have a round wok that I use for small cuts of vegetables, ant it works just as well.
(It’s next to the corn, you’ll have to look close to see it).

The square one cleans very easily if you brush it or spray it with oil. I do prefer to use the round one for veggies. It has a larger contact surface with the grill and it allows me to flip the veggies with ease.

I have the wok type and some of the clamping baskets like BBcue-Z showed pics of at the top of the thread. For grilling veggies the clamping baskets work alot better for me. Its hard to get a good char/sear on anything using the wok, veggies just cook and get soft in it. The baskets allow more of the veggie to be exposed to the fire so they actually get grilled. Its like the difference between corn cooked directly on the grill and corn wraped in foil on the grill, I guess its really a matter of taste. I use my wok alot for things like warming up bread/rolls and I cover the top with foil and make garlic bread in it thats really good to.

Hey Z....did you get that round one at Lowes?? Did the bottom of it get all scratched up after the first use??

This is the way to go. Great for grilled asparagus and for fajitas, too.

Yes. That is by far the easiest way to clean them and you don't have to worry about rubbing off the non-stick coating.

They seem to do OK. Fortunately they are very inexpensive.

We buy 3 or 4 on clearance each fall and for 3 bucks each I really don't worry about them too much.

You clean freaks out there (You know who you are ) might have a problem with discoloring but they keep on working.

I'd much rather they be made of carbon steel, which can be seasoned
a bit. Remember anything over high coal heat is not gonna keep it's coating. Teflon or otherwise. The heat is just too intense.

Just to jump in here, I use a plastic spatula or wooden utensils on mine, *not* tongs. Teflon just isn't durable enough to stand up to metal utensils. So far no big scratches, just normal wear-n-tear ones.

BTW I run mine through the dishwasher without problems.

Minor Scratches on the bottom of the round type, I treat it like cast iron. Brush it with oil after each use and cleaning. The square one has a much thicker coating and no scratches so far. If you’re careful not to drag it across the grate (metal on metal), it should do well.

I love wooden utensils. I'll use them no matter what the pot or pan is. I think the bottom(underside) got scratched from being dragged back and forth on the grill.

I'm looking at getting that stainless square wok.

My apologies. I thought you meant the inside was scratched, such as from tools.

Mine has scratches on the bottom, but they're pretty minor, I'm sure from the grates. I feel they're signs of a well-used appliance and move on. After all, food goes on the inside of the pan.

I've looked at some of the woks, but can't convince myself to get one. I'll have to get a couple of the rotis baskets, though, to make life easier.
