Ok I have a question inspired by a comment Big D did on another post. And something I want to pursue as I am a cattleman. (theres nothing like grilling your own beef!)

How many of you have braning irons to place a mark (your initials, doneness, etc...) on your grilled meat ? I've seen them before but do they work well? Are they heated in the coals or are they electric? Where did you get them?

I love my branding iron.. people always get a kick out of it when they see I have stamped it with my initals....

My is just a metal rod with metal letters on the end and a wood handle.. you can stick it in the coals or on the side burned or anything thats hot to heat it up and just stamp... normal takes 2-3 mins to heat up the first time and then y a can stamps 3-4 steaks before reheating it....

I saw it when ordering other grill accessories online and couldnt say no... it wasnt too expensive.. any online grill accessory website should have em... my only problem is everywheres I looked could only get 2-3 letters so I settled for my intials.. I really want a 4 letter one so I can st amp Big D since thats what everyone knows me as

Don't have one but I've though it would be fun to have. Looked them up once and found a few WEB sites that gave ideas on how to make your own brand from parts at the hardware store if you have a welder. One place even made "line art" type brands for logos and such.

This company has will make you an iron with your own design or sell you a holder and letters. Only looked for a few minutes so I won't vouch for anything.

There's that #@%*$!@ pepper grill again. (I've got 3 now!)

Do a google search on steak branding irons.

Tons of hits. Logos, script names, etc. Big D coulda had one made the way he wanted.

Might be a little pricey, but hey, you should only have to buy this thing once!
Unless you beat it against a brick wall!
