Apple wood, pecan, etc.

Does anyone know of any good places to get apple, pecan, and cherry wood in the Richmond, VA area? I've checked Lowe's and Home Depot, but all they had was hickory and mesquite. I'm doing some baby backs today and was hoping to do them the "right" way by smoking them with apple wood.

Cherry -- check with local cabinet makers for their cherry scraps. These are the unfinished scrap pieces left over from making the rails, styles, and such for cabinets. You may also find other smoking wood scraps from the same places. Maybe you can barter some Q for the chance to go through their cut-off bins.
