Hi, everyone (especially if you're from Louisiana):

I'm curious--are there any barbecuing or grilling traditions for Mardi Gras in New Orleans?

Thanks!

SR

I'm just outside of New Orleans, but I haven't really heard of any particular traditions when it comes to BBQ/grilling for Mardi Gras. I'd imagine certain families may have their traditions when it comes to that though. Mardi Gras day here is a holiday, so it's nice to get that extra day off during the week and most of the time I will fire up the grill but not with anything in particular. Just whatever I happen to feel like cooking at the time :D

I asked a friend of mine who lives in the Lafayette area and he isn't familiar with any, either.

He did, however, mention beer.
