Ok got butts on at 9am.. 2hrs later than I wanted to.. got up late

jstewart, the recovery after adding fuel was very good.. a lot better than natural draft. plus it did not drop as much.

That might just be a good reason for me to look a little harder at this. By the way, how do you refuel? For example, I have two baskets and just swap them out and pour the remaining coals off of one to the basket that I'm putting in.

I have one large basket that I made. I just pull the coals toward the grill and then add there. The more I use this the more I get use to it. Usally after I add that much meat it takes quite a while for the temp to get back up even though it had been out of the frig for three hours. It took a lot less time to recover.

It regulates the air flow into your cooker based on the cooker temp that you set it at and maintains it + or - 5 deg

Keep us posted on how well it works and how you like it. I've been kicking around the idea of getting one for my Egg. That or the one that Auber Instruments makes.

It works great.. last time I did ribs maintained temp for the 5 hrs. they were on
