Selling Rub

I'm looking for advise. As most of you know I'm a bbq and grilling nut, and have a tendency to go a bit overboard on most things I do. Hence the nickname and the motto. We every summer now it seems that I'm going through about 15 gallons of my own rub mix. I buy the stuff, mix the stuff, grind the stuff, and of course store it and then use it. I generally end up giving some of it away to friends or as gifts. But not much as it is generally a valued product that frankly is a pain to make in that quantity.
Well now I have found a commercial entity that will make it for me exact to my specifications and then package it as I choose and delver it right to me. Suddenly it is a no hassle deal and frankly cheaper than what I could make myself. Well now I've already had people asking me if I'm going to market it. Now it was not my intent but the idea isn't impossible. I'm already set up as a LLC and insured, and since I'm technically reselling it from another liscensed and certified manufacturer it could be pretty easy. Or am I missing something?
I'm not thinking about setting up a store or anything but just setting out a few bottles at competitions or if a vendor want to sell it in their store.
Is this crazy and best left to the pro's or something worth doing.
I was thinking something like $15 for a 2 pound shaker jar.

Sounds like a great idea. I have mentioned on here before about a friend who sells a hot shake on Ebay. Its called Al's hot stuff. He has his own store on there. While I'm not sure he is an LLC or anything, it sounds like you are more ahead of the game as he mixes everything himself. And keep in mind, its 15 different kinds of hot peppers!! Send some samples out to diferent BBQ sites and such. See if they like it. Try a local flea market. If you are at this point of the game, I would buy some.

Since it's made up in a certified kitchen
and sold sealed you should be OK.

Just like buying unlabeled hot sauces and
adding your own label.

The prep site is the most paramount.

If you are going to sell it at your booth to start off, AND they can make it cheaper than you, AND you'll probably use the stuff if you can't sell it (Like that will ever happen ) I see NO substantial financial risk.......

How big a batch do you have to order to get started?

Do you need a silent partner???

If you do with your rub what you do with your chili (meaning - make it real good), I'll buy some. Especially with the feedback you've gotten from friends and family members, to me those are the best reviews. Just don't make it as hot as your "Hottest Chili In The Contest" chili.
