I'm so excited because I just ordered a Weber Performer charcoal grill! The lame bit is I have to wait 2 weeks to get it. Oh well, gotta be patient.
Anyway, the grill comes with a triple-nickel plated hinged cooking grate. What I was wondering about was, is this just as good a surface as cast iron or porcelain coated cast iron?? Can you get a cast iron grate for this kind of barbeque? Should I care? How does a triple-nickel surface compare for doing steaks, pork, and burgers?
