What a great site. Found you guys from Steves How to Grill Book. Just put together my Weber 22.5 platinum. Does it need to be seasoned, if so how? I want you guys to know you helped me go with the weber charcoal.
Thanks
Lynn

The porcelin coating on the Weber's does not need to be seasoned.
I would light a chimney full dump it in, leave all vents fully open and let it burn for 10 or 15 minutes. Oil your grate and cook something.

Enjoy!

Those are some cute little buggers!

Maybe I will pick one up to take on my Beach vacation coming up next week. At least it will give me a reason to stand outside and, you know.. check out the beach bunnies...er...I mean steaks, burgers and ribs. =)

Hey Big Belly, I think you may be thinking of the Weber Smokey Joe Platinum which is a 18.5 inch portable grill. The regular size Joe's are 14.5 inches. The 22.5 Platinum, although it has 2 wheels, may be a little cumbersome to throw in the car for your next road trip. :D BTW Welcome aboard!!
