Looking for a good Q joint in Dallas

My husband and I are traveling to Dallas in July and we want to go to a really good barbeque joint. Nothing fancy, just down-home, slap yo mama, good barbeque. I have heard about Sonny Bryan's. Are there any others?

I agree 100%.........Probably the best in D/FW area. Dont look for a comfortable seat though.....LOL

DaHorns is right. Do you remember the desks you sat in when you were in elementary school? That what they use at Sonny's on Inwood.

Sonny Bryan it is! Between you guys and Rachel Ray (Food Network) this place must be the bomb!!! I can't wait. thanks for the input.

I really enjoyed Railhead's between Big D and Foat Wurth. Hadn't been to Sonny Bryan's.

From what I hear, the only Sonny Bryants worth going to is the original,or Inwood. And they are only open until they run out....which means lunch only and get there early.

Doing a whirlwind tour of Dallas / Irving bbq

Findings so far:

Red Hot and Blue - great ribs, brisket was dry, all in all overpriced.

Dickies Irving - Great brisket and sausage! My favorite of the bunch. Dickies loads it on.

Fred's BBQ Pit Irving. - 6 out of 10. Good ribs, brisket had an odd flavor. Reasonably priced.

more to come as the week goes on. I plan on hitting Spring Creek and Sonny Bryans.
