BBQ in Pennsylvania - Delaware

South Carolina has spoiled me with BBQ restaurants on every corner, but now I've relocated to Pennsylvania and only know of one chain restaurant about an hour away. I'm in Southeastern Pennsylvania - Please help me out, I'm salivating for some good BBQ.

There are some places around, you just have to know where to look. Can you give us a bit more detail on where you're at? Then we can help you better.

It's a bit of a drive down DE 1, but there's a local place called Where Pigs Fly in Dover that's great!

Sorry Huff, I don't get out that way often enough to offer any real good advise.

Try sweet lucy's in philly. or Mabel's in west chester

Hello all, I am new here and really enjoying this site!
I am a fanatic about Q' and travel south often in search of the good stuff.
My family is near Savannah GA so I am down there often.

I am in SE PA and this area is really hurting for good BBQ...
I second the Sweet Lucy's opinion as their ribs are really very good and the BBQ sandwiches are very good too. People are nice and the food shows real attention to detail.
I'd rate the ribs a 8.5-9 out of 10.

It's real smoked food and not chain store stuff.

It's a pain to get to though....(I-95 and Rt73)

ps: some good friends from Waco dropped by last weekend (drove) and left about 125 lbs of Pecan branches.

I wish I had some good friends in Waco.

I did have a friend give me some pecan too, a couple weeks ago , I may be cutting and splitting this weekend.

I lived in Downingtown for ten years before coming down here to Fla and can attest to Mabel's. There was a Puerto Rican joint in Reading that did some good brisket and goat, if yer into that. Have to dig out a menu or match book with the name though.
