Adam's Ribs

After I saw guest "Adam" posting on the BBQ board today, I had a strange thought. There was a M*A*S*H episode where Hawkeye had ribs delivered to Korea from a place called Adam's Ribs. I started to wonder if the place was for real.

I didn't know the details so I performed a search of the internet and found that the place on the show was supposedly in Chicago and located beside the Dearborn Street Station.

Some joker claims the place exists in Joliet and posted a bogus address to the newsgroup. It doesn't exist there. But I found the address for an Adam's Rib in Riverdale, another Chicago suburb but not near Joliet.

Does anyone know if this is the Adam's Ribs from M*A*S*H? Are Adam's Ribs really good enough to have delivered halfway around the world? I figure if anyone knows the answers, it is someone on a BBQ board.

I've seen that episode but never even thought to check it out. Would be interesting if it does exist.

Adam's Ribs: Located beside the Dearborn Street Station in Chicago, Illinois.

Phone number (on the show) of the Dearborn Street Station was
Dearborn 5-7500 and Adam's Ribs was Dearborn 5-2750.

Shyam K. Sriram claims that Adam's Ribs exists and gave me this address:
1514 North Broadway, Joliet, Illinois, USA, 60521
He also says that there really is a Dearborn Street Station, and that
Dearborn St. and North Broadway intersect, so Adam's Ribs is indeed
located "near the Dearborn Street station".

Everytime I hear Ribs and Chicago in the same sentence I think of a M*A*S*H* episode where Hawkeye goes nuts over "Adam's Ribs" next to Dearborn Station. Is there actually such a place?

I don't think there was ever an "Adam's Ribs," and the Dearborn Street Station, where the Super Chief arrived from LA, was torn down long ago.
