Famous Dave's

Has anyone eaten at or heard anything about Famous Dave's?

Fired, We have one near us here in MI. I really like their brisket and pulled pork. Ribs were o.k.

Plenty of them in the Minneapolis area. It's ok. It wouldn't say it's great but I've had worse. Just stay away from the corn on the cob. It's usually way over cooked.

I've been (once) to a famous Dave's here in SE MI. I was impressed with both their meat and other dishes: the cole slaw and baked beans, for example, were both well above average.

I have been to one in Iowa and I would say Great sauce, decent sides and decent meat. I only had the ribs. I could do way better on my CG but it aint too bad. At least they do not boil or bake the ribs.

Famous Dave's is based out of Omaha and is similar to KC Masterpiece, though not as good. A typical chain BBQ restaurant and they are consistent.

When I eat at FD's (couple times a year) I usually get the rib tips, although I'll occasionally have a hot link.

My nephew flew into San Diego yesterday we went to Rie Dio Gado brazilian restaurant.in downtown San Diego. (awesome as usual)....and he was telling me about the Famous Daves in Chandler AZ... he raved about it... said it was his favorite place to go for meat!!! The boy knows meat..... big boy..BIG boy!

I think they have some of the best ribs available here in Madison, WI.

Remember when Famous Dave was just starting out back in the mid-'90s.
Won People's Choice in Cleveland & Naperville, IL. back in 1996 or 1997 if
I remember correctly (among other awards, but that's where I 1st ate his
ribs). Changed when he started the restaraunts, but still has great rib tips - where I go for them.

love the sauce, never been

Ok for a chain, but stay away from the pulled pork, feels prechewed.
Several sauces, so you will find a taste you like. Brunswick stew is more of a soup, but is very good. Be sure to get the bread pudding. It has a scoop of ice cream on top, and is drowned with a pecan pralene sauce. Go there if only for the bread pudding.

YES,,,,I HAVE EATEN THERE 3 TIMES NOW......JUST AS WELL PUT A POT ROAST IN THE OVEN,,,,,AND FORGET IT!

They just opened the first one out here. IT STINKS!!!!!! Smokey Bones also opened and was a little bit better. What do i know? I waited for a table 40-45 minutes @ each of them! For the average bbq novice its prob the best they have ever had

Famous Dave's is definitely based in the Minneapolis area. I went to high school with the son of Famous Dave in the Minneapolis area (they have quite the house!).

Curiously, his son is tall and lean and a health-food nut.
