Was passing through Memphis on vacation, had dinner at 3 different well-known BBQ joints - Alfred's was the best. Pulled pork and rib combo platter was great. For the ribs, I think they started off with a dry rub and finished it off with a mild, but flavorful sauce. Pulled pork was tender and tasty. Other "well-known" places had a traditional Memphis dry rub - all you tasted was spice - no meat. If I get a chance to go back to Memphis, I'll be sure to stop back at Alfred's (oh yeah - the "party" atmosphere on Beale Street helped )
