Eastern Carolina can't be beat!!!

Most people mistakenly believe that BBQ is made up of tomato paste, sugar, and a little meat to act as a vehicle. Eastern NC Pork BBQ is the real thing. 2 places do it better than any others I've ever had. Both are legends in the Tarheel State and I always make sure to get some when I'm back home. The first, Cooper's, has been a legend in downtown Raleigh since the 30's when Raleigh was just a little town. The other is right in the middle of Hog Country and is an institution in it's own right.
