London BBQ Joints

I thought since we have an international audience here that I could get some info on some places to go for BBQ in London. I have a colleague who is spending a lot of time there and he not thrilled with some of the 'que that he's tried. Any info would help.

I be interests in reading some reviews as well. I don't exactly picture London as the BBQ capital.

No kidding. Heck, I'm thinking about trying to get to one of those.

Off topic: And now that you mention it, what the heck happened to Don Marco? Haven't seen him around lately.

My last visit to London in 2002, I ate at a BBQ restaurant in Kensington. I can't remember the name of the place, but I distinctly remember the barbecued chicken! Really good stuff! It was still during the time of the "Mad Cow" disease scare and I don't remember any pork on the menu, but the chicken was wonderful! In fact, it was so good that my wife and I ate there twice during our week long vacation.

Is Ian Mack still around? I'm pretty sure he's from the UK (maybe not London), but he can probably point you in the right direction.

Then again, he developed his own smoker, so that may say something about the state of BBQ in the UK...
