Mesa Grill - Ceasars Palace

Hey everyone,

I'm really excited as I am leaving tomorrow for Vegas for a few days for a buddy of mines 30th birthday.

As stupid as this sounds, the most exciting thing to me about our whole trip is that we get to go to Bobby Flays restaurant. I was wondering If anyone had ate there and what they suggested?

OMG Yes! ^^^^ That! Replace Bobby Flays with this place instead and you'll be golden! Awesome food there.

I ate there 2 years ago and had one of the best NY strips ever. But read the menu because side dishes are not included with the steak. I sat at the bar and bar manager Steve took great care of me.

Can't go wrong with Bobby Flay, but take a look at the prices... YIKES! If you can afford it and are jonesing for a great, luxurious meal, then go for it.

On the other hand, if you want some delicious BBQ that's also CHEAP...
Go to Ellis Island Casino and Brewery (2 blocks east of Flamingo on Koval St.). For $12 last year, you get a BBQ plate of ribs, chicken, cole slaw, delicious baked beans and garlic bread! This was featured on the Food Network, their pit is right outside, and it's great! Not to mention the fact that they brew their own microbrew and sell it by the pint for $1.50!!! There Amber Ale is awesome... not to mention their own Root Beer. Definite must stop... especially after dropping a big chunk of change on the Strip and you wanna drown your sorrows in some good, cheap microbrew and BBQ.

Have to agree that it is pricey! Not that I shy away from pricey meals when I travel. I stayed in Ceasars 2 years ago for a work conference and had some appetizers at Mesa Grill. They were tasty but small portions of course at a luxury restaurant. I just sat at the bar. Place was packed,bright and noisy. If you are Jonesing for Bobby Flay, do it but make your reservation early.

I actually had a better dinner at Rao's. Thats the traditional Italian place that Bobby has had some throwdown's with on Food Channel. The decor copies the restaurant in New York. It is quiet, muted lighting, Italian and excellently executed. You will think you are Tony Soprano!

As a reminder, Mike was one of the authors of Peace, Love and BBQ.

And autographed copies of the book are available at the restaurant as well in case it isn't part of the collection already.

I haven't dined at Mesa, but I did dine at Bobby Flay Steak at the Borgata in Atlantic City. We enjoyed it, but it was extremely expensive.

Hmmm, looking at the menu at Mike Mills place the prices are really good, I plan on eating there next time.

Seeing this late and not sure if you went. I have eaten at Mesa Grill a number of times and think it is outstanding. It's definitely not a barbecue restaurant but rather a high end dining experience. Prices are not really higher than other similar caliber restaurants along the strip. You definitely can't compare to the Mike Mills place because they are two totally different kinds of restaurants. If you are willing to spend the money, go for it. I have thoroughly enjyoyed myself every time I've been there.
