Workman Goes To Washington

A few weeks ago, Steven and fellow Workman Publishing author, Patricia Schultz (who wrote 1000 Places to See Before You Die) traveled to Washington for the National Book Festival. The trip included breakfast at the White House, which is why Steven is wearing a very uncharacteristic article of clothing—a necktie.



While at the White House, Steven and Patricia met Dr. James H. Billington, the Librarian of Congress and one of the event’s organizers.


They also had time for breakfast, which was not barbecue, but which was absolutely delicious


Later that afternoon, Steven gave a lecture on the history of barbecue at the National Book Festival, and he was gratified to meet several Barbecue University alums and contributors to the Barbecue Board.
