We are pleased to post our second guest blog, this one from Steven Cruz, President of the Pacific Island Grillers. Not only is Steven an alumni of Barbecue University, but he is a passionate griller who contributed the inspiration for Chamorro Ribs (Guamanian Vinegar Soy Ribs)
on page 150 of Raichlen on Ribs (Workman Publishing, 2006). He sent this blog from Hong Kong. The grilling competition his organization sponsors raises money for special education on Guam.

The Ultimate Reward

The Pacific Island Grillers is the event organizer for Guam’s Ultimate Grilling Competition. Our 2nd event is tentatively scheduled for October with net proceeds earmarked to support the children enrolled in the Special Education programs on Guam.

Teams participating will be vying for over $10,000 in cash and prizes and the honor to be crowned Guam’s Grill Master, 2006. The grand champion will walk away with An extraordinarily unique championship belt designed by Rico Mann, staff artist at Reggie Park’s Championship Belts.

The overall length of the belt from end to end is 52”. The center plate from top to bottom is 12” flanked on both sides with the Pacific Island Grillers Logo.
